CAROLINA NERY

I am a Brazilian living in Christchurch, graduated in architecture in 2003, and in Master Research in Arts in 2018, my artistic journey linked to science never stopped; in New Zealand, I work with the University of Canterbury - Cycles Research, and in Brazil with the University of Sao Paulo, engaged with many projects focused in art and communities.

My vision of multiculturalism was fuelled by visits made in my immense country and several countries in Europe, Indochina and Oceania.

I am a passionate teacher who demonstrates a commitment to inspire, guide and research alongside children, interpreting their intelligence and skills while exploring their ideas using a variety of languages and artistic materials are activities that move and inspire me during the long experience in teaching and doing arts.

Exploration, search and motivation increase my interest in knowing how to build learning on my own and based on interrelationships.

I follow the constructivist of praxis: “reflection and action directed at the structures to be transformed”. It assumes that each class changes progressively according to the group, interests and preferences. It is an exchange of knowledge; will bring to share what they like and the teacher will help them to express their feelings through gestures, writing, modelling, painting, etc.
